Biography of William Barnabas Doyle, Jr.....
William Barnabas Doyle, J r . was born on Sunday, April 19, 1868 in Akron, Summit County, Ohio. The fourth child to his father William Barnabas Doyle and the first child to his mother Mary Ann (Lautz) Doyle.
William attended and graduated from the Akron Ohio public schools in 1883 and then from the Western Reserve Academy in
1886. He graduated in 1890 from Amherst College. William entered Harvard Law School in October of 1892 and graduated in June of 1895.
In October of 1895 William was admitted to the bar of the Supreme Court of Ohio and practiced law in Akron.
On Thursday, September 14, 1889 William married Francis Louis Wilcox, the daughter of Henry C. Wilcox. Francis was born on thursday, August 24, 1871 in Akron, Summit Co., Ohio.
William practiced law until April of 1901 when he was elected Mayor of the Akron, Ohio and served for two years.
In February of 1907 William accepted the Chair of Contract Law in the school of Applied Science of Carnegie Institute in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
On Saturday, July 20, 1918, Francis passed away in Akron, Ohio from septic peronitis at the age of 46 years .
On Sunday, November 18, 1943 William passed away at the home of his daughter, Mary (Doyle) Lee in New London, Conneticut from a cerebral hemorrhage at the age of 75 years.
William and Francis are both the buried in section 25, lot of the Glendale Cemetery in Akron, Summit
Co., Ohio.
